I don’t know about you, but I am all about being cozy! I do a little happy dance around this time every year, because I finally get to pull out all of my sweaters! Looking back, I think I’ve worn a sweater every day for the past week, if not longer. As much as I love being comfortable, I do also like to look presentable. As in, I don’t want to look like I just rolled out of bed and showed up at Target in my pajamas. Now that I am no longer in college, and it is generally unacceptable to wear slippers inside a grocery store (fluffy cheetah print slippers in my case, don’t judge me), I spent some time mastering what I call the “cozy chic” look.
Cozy chic is a pretty easy look to get down. You probably have all of the necessary pieces in your closet right now! I start with a nice pair of pants or jeans, add an oversized, yet attractive looking sweater, slip on some very cute flats (no heels allowed in a cozy chic look), and I’m good to go! See? Easy peasy! When I’m choosing pants to wear for this type of look, I stick with silhouettes that are tighter to my body. Skinny jeans work perfectly, for example. I do this, because two over sized pieces tends to move the outfit over to the cozy side, and away from the chic side. You have to strike a good balance between the two.
Makeup and hair are also easy for a cozy chic look! I kept my makeup very natural for this look above, choosing to focus on a bright pink lip, to match my shoes! I wore no eyeshadow, or eyeliner, to make my eyes appear brighter. Your hair should also look natural, yet polished and clean. I showered in the morning, and let my hair air dry. The longer my hair has gotten, the more naturally wavy it is! I add a little Goldwell Kerasilk Reconstructive Balm to protect & repair any damage I have, and then smooth out the ends with some Moroccan Oil.
