Lilac/Lavender
Lilac or lavender, whatever you want to call it, has been one of my favorite colors basically since I was born. My sister, Aly, was the “pink” twin, and I was the “purple” one. My love for lavender has stuck with me as I’ve grown up. I often find myself gravitating towards lavender in stores, and when I’m online shopping. You know when you add 20 things to your online shopping cart, and then look through them and realize they’re almost all the same color? Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing with lavender lately (don’t worry Mom, I didn’t buy alllll 20 things…). I started seeing lavender pop up last spring, but it didn’t quite hit the peak of it’s popularity.
Throughout this past fall and winter, I’ve seen lavender being worn more and more! The runways were covered in it at the Spring 2018 fashion shows around the globe. Harpers Bazar called it “the next must-have color”, with designers from Tom Ford to Valentino getting on board (Check out Harpers Bazar’s Top Spring 2018 Runway Trends). Pastels are always popular for Spring. Last spring we couldn’t get away from “Millennial Pink“. This year, pastels coming in hot once again, with lavender leading the way.
You can incorporate this pretty pastel into your wardrobe in many different ways. Your clothing, accessories, or even your nail color! I’m literally wearing a lavender shirt while I write this, and I didn’t even do it on purpose. Here are some of my favorite lavender/lilac items out there right now:
