Napa Valley Bachelorette Party Guide

This past October, I threw my twin sister a bachelorette party in Napa Valley, California! We had a blast sipping wine, strolling through downtown Napa, and hanging out with the girls! If you’re planning a bachelorette party in Napa, or are just headed down for a girls weekend, this one is for you!

Transportation:

We flew into the Sonoma airport Friday night, picked up our rental car, and began the hour long drive to Napa! Helpful tip: If you can, flying into the Sonoma county airport will save you quite a bit of driving time! The drive to Napa from the Sacramento airport was about an hour and 45 minutes, and the drive from the San Francisco airport was around two hours. It may cost a little extra to fly into Sonoma, but the shorter drive more than makes up for it!

Having a rental car while we were there was a great decision. My mom was our DD (super helpful to have when you’re in the middle of wine country), so she was able to drive us girls from our hotel, and to the restaurants we ate at!

Where We Stayed:

We stayed at the River Terrace Inn, which is located downtown overlooking the Napa River. We had a great stay while we were there, including a complimentary glass of wine when we checked in! Napa hotels tend to fill up quickly during peak season, so be sure to book your stay in advance!

Where We Went:

The big event of our trip was riding the Napa Valley Wine Trolley! It picked us up from out hotel, and took us to four different wineries!

We loved the Wine Trolley for a few reasons. The first is that it takes the guess work out of which wineries to visit. If you’re new to visiting Napa like we were, you might be overwhelmed by the sheer number of wineries to choose between. The Wine Trolley rotates between six or so different wineries, so you don’t have to worry about choosing for yourself. The Wine Trolley costs $99 per person, and does not include the tastings at each winery.

The wineries we visited were:

Whitehall Lane Winery

Pestoni Family Estate Vineyard

Rutherford Ranch

Andretti Winery

Aside from the Wine Trolley, we explored the shops around Downtown Napa, and found a quiet tasting room to play some typical bachelorette party games! I’m totally spacing on the name of the place we found, but it had big, spacious couches, and a delicious chardonnay.

What We Ate:

One of my favorite parts of Napa is the Oxbow Public Market. The Oxbow reminds me of a small version of Pike Place Market downtown Seattle! There are quite a few unique food vendors. Aly and I tried a pumpkin spice cupcake from Kara’s Cupcakes, and the group split a couple of cheese boards and bottles of wine from the Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant.

The other restaurants we ate at were:

ALBA (inside the River Terrace Inn), Alexis Baking Company, Stone Brewing, and Live Fire Pizza.
