We’ve come to that time in the year when Fall is right around the corner! Usually I’m sad when summer comes to an end. I was made for hot, sunny weather, and I don’t function nearly as well in the cold. I love the freedom of not having to throw on a jacket, and sun dresses are much more comfortable than jeans. With that being said, I’m actually excited for the changing seasons this year! Maybe it’s because of my cozy new oversized sweaters that I’ve been itching to wear, or the fall decorations I’ve been sprinkling all over the apartment. Whatever the reason, I’ve been soaking up all things fall lately.
This weekend, Brad and I ventured over to the other side of the state to visit my family! While we were there, we stopped by Green Bluff, which is a collection of cute farms, orchards, and little shops (it is also the perfect place to take some fall photos). I picked up some honeycrisp apples, which are the best apples out there if you were wondering. I also got some pumpkin spice caramels (basic, I know), and we even met some cute little sheep.
My outfit for the outing consisted of an oversized fluffy sweater, a khaki green skirt, and my favorite over the knee boots! Over the knee boots were extremely popular last fall and winter, and they aren’t going anywhere this year! For one you can wear them with a short skirt and your legs wont freeze off! This opens up so many possibilities for fall outfits, and gives those spring and summer skirts a new life that doesn’t involve tights. I found my oversized sweater at Nordstrom Rack and knew I had to have it right away. It’s the perfect amount of “oversized” and it’s comfortable and soft. I paired it with the tighter skirt to contrast how oversized it is.
One rule that I like to follow is one oversized piece per outfit. Too many oversized pieces will overwhelm you, and you’ll get lost in your outfit! Oversized sweaters are a go-to favorite of mine in the fall, and winter. They are one of the most comfortable things you can own, and you can make them look extremely stylish! How often is it that something so comfortable is also so cute?!
Below are some of the pictures we took this weekend, and the links to everything in my outfit are listed below! Happy almost-fall everyone!
