One of my favorite Christmas memories ever is opening my stocking every Christmas morning. It was rare for me to get much sleep at all the night before Christmas. I would get up as soon as I saw a hint of sun streaming through the windows, and run to my twin sister’s room. Aly, on the other hand, enjoyed sleeping in. I would jump on her, pull off her covers, and tickle her until she woke up (which took a good 15 minutes, at least). When she was finally awake enough to function, we would run out into the living room of our grandparent’s house. We headed straight for our stockings, hung neatly next to the fireplace. We took them to the couch, and spilled their contents everywhere. Candy canes, chocolate coins, lip smackers, and toys. Sometimes, we would even get a new Bratz doll if we were lucky!
Stockings are such a fun tradition, and are definitely not just for kids! I’ve searched through a few of my favorite websites to find some awesome stocking stuffer ideas that are a little more grown up (sorry, no bratz dolls here).
